Well after years of gluttony, tis time to pay the piper. At 53 the aches and pains of morbid obesity have whipped me. I hate to acknowledge that I do not have the personal discipline to stay on a healthy diet. So I have decided to go through gastric by-pass surgury. I am fortunate to have Dr. Helmut Billy at the Advanced Surgical Assoc. here to do it.
I go in Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 11:30 am. and should get out Thursday afternoon. I will be noting my progress here for any interested. Any and all prayers will be gratefully appreciated.

Don, hope all goes well with your surgery, I know several people who have had this procedure done and have had great results. Listen to your doctors and do what they say, I know one man who started exercising too soon after his surgery and it caused a mess of problems, in which he had to go in for another surgery to have it fixed. Prayers will be said and will be watching for updates.

Good luck, Don, and conratulations with taking control of your life back.
Take it easy at first. The first year is the "honeymoon period" where the weight
slides off, but the surgery is a tool. You will be fine, my friend.
