At this point I decided to start making a list of the tunes I know, I made a neat little Excel file for this. I've been playing Double Bass with two fiddle groups, and I'm working
my way into playing fiddle with them so I have to work on my tune list ( I can not spell the fancy french word the begins with " REP" )
and the excel sheet is going to help me keep track of the tunes I know.
I decided to start a blog to list my current tunes in progress.
1. The Woodchopper's Reel
2. The Kesh jig
3. Jerusalem Ridge

Wow - you're sure not picking the "easy" ones to start learning.
Woodchopper's Reel is all over the strings - from high to low.
The Kesh Jig typically has a short roll or four - and the high part wants your pinky to hit that B natural on the E string in time and in tune.
And Jerusalem Ridge has a bit of bow pulsing (if you play it the way Kenny played it) and a part typically played out of 2nd position.
No matter though - no reason to waste time setting your sights too low... ;-)

These are not my first, I have about 20 I can play, Each of these do have some very challenging parts, but I'm working slow and steady, by no means will I have Jerusalem Ridge at
Kenny Bakers level any time soon, but I figure if I can get the foundation down then it will be "easier" to add the fancy stuff latter.
