Threads of Expression

Posted by jacentaaa on Thursday, March 12, 2009

So the show at Emmett Elementary went great. I only messed up once! haha.  Our shows at Mary Hughes and Bluff City went well too. We got our picture in the Piney Bluff Gazette too. However, our show at Holston didn't go that great. We were told there were going to be mics, but there wasn't so we couldn't hear our bass or anything so the timing was all out of whack. But oh well, not that big of a deal we just laughed it off.

Tonight is the Threads of Expression Festival at school. Drama, band, and the bluegrass band will be performing and all the best artwork is being displayed for parents. I have 2 pieces in the artshow. :D So that's exciting.

I also started my clogging class last Tuesday. I had a blast. I took clogging when i was little but I stopped when I switched schools so I'm really stoked about starting again. (:

Well anyways, wish me luck tonight! I hope everyone is doing well.
God Bless, Jacenta.

I know you did well. You don't even have to tell me because I heard "Crazy Train" so I know you did well. And if you only messed up one time, then, you did better than me ;) So, it's all that school work, playing the fiddle and now clogging too? they just can't slow you down can they? good luck with it all kiddo, show them how it's done! I'm plugging for ya :)

Hey, I saw your photos. Looks like you had a great time (and that's what counts). Are you sure you had enough banjo paickers, though? :)

Oh, and in answer to your question about the hardanger fiddle, the other four strings are called resonance strings. The run through a hoie near the bottom of the bridge and underneath the fingerboard instead of along side the other strings. You can hear one being played in my music section.
