It's HERE!!!!! Old Time Festival Tunes for Fiddle and Mandolin arrived yesterday and I do have to say it looks great. This book provides 117 tunes with two lines of standard notation (basic and advanced) plus a line of tab intended for Mandolin but usable for fiddle AND suggested chords. The tunes are the same ones as in the OTFest for Clawhammer Banjo (which has two lines of banjo tab) and the top line (basic standard notation) is the same in both books. Thanks to all of you who helped by checking out a tune or two and a couple who looked em all over. Anyways, or is that anywho... I have a deal for the Hangout folks. The regular price of each book is $30 plus shipping, I will offer you the set - both Old Time Festival Books - for $50 (plus shipping - about $10 actually - they are BIG books!) if you order in February. Now to get to work updating Buzzard Banjo and yes, get a fiddle version out on that one too.
As to stories of the road, many of you know already we are now splitting our time between Tucson and Yuma AZ. Seems Miss Jennifer's work has taken us to Yuma, and I don't want to give up our time in Tucson OR my students. We are in Tucson most weekends and Yuma most "work" weeks. It's a long story, so I won't bore you all, but it does seem like we are destined to be on the road for a while more. Hope to see and work with many of you this year. Stop by and have a tune or two!
The story continues... Till next time,
