Violin repair and Bow Rehair

Posted by kygarv7 on Monday, January 26, 2009

If you live near the tri-state area of Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia and need a bow rehaired, you'll find out there isn't anyone who does a very good job and they still charge way too much. I am a player who understands what other players want, not just a woodworker. Now I have several years experience helping others get their violins and bows in top working order. Feel free to contact me with any questions and thanks for any support!

Hey Michael,

Welcome to the forum. I've had a chance to see and hear several YouTube clips of you fiddling - "No Corn on Tygart", I think and a few others... I enjoyed'em all.

Don't need a bow re-haired at the moment. But it'll happen some time in the next year. When it does, I'll try to figure out how to get it down to you - though I'd need some advice on how ship a bow.

Thanks for listening! I see we both enjoy listening to the old Ed Haley recordings. I'm sure you could find plenty of qualified bow re-hair specialist closer to your area, but I have done a few orders by mail. They just sent me the bows in a pvc pipe and it worked out great. Keep in touch!

Hi Michael,

I too have enjoyed your YouTube videos.
Interesting that you posted "Black Eyed Peas and Cornbread".
That's the first one I saw.
And I have to say, the way you use the bow reminds me a lot of the way
I use the bow- would you possibly be up for some bowing discussions?
If not, that's okay too-
I tend to geek out on bowing!
