Well, well, well. Today I was playing the third tune I have learned... Whiskey before Breakfast (one of the great titles ever IMHO) along with my son - he got his fiddle on Christmas, what a treat! He and I have played this before together, but this is the first time where you could really hear the beat in the music. It's so awesome. He and I also play other instruments, but to get the fiddles going together really was a neat thing.
We need a little more speed, but he and I play it best right now about 80 BPM. Finally was able to relax my left hand while playing, which of course allowed me to inflect rhthym into the tune. A big thanks to Jim Burke, he has helped my fiddle playing and his website provided some of the best instruction on the net. When I finally get around to it I will post a version. My other son is learning to play the guitar, so we may have the whole package here...
Ton's of fun to succeed. Yet I know I have so much more to go!

Very cool that you're keeping it in the family Mark!

Or you might try slowing it down. When John and I got married, our wedding march, played on an old pump organ, was Whiskey Before Breakfast played at a slow, stately pace. Nobody was the wiser, and it sounded great.
