I'm trying to get over my absolute and total fumblebow stumblebow funblefingers that happens the minute I try to record my playing. I still haven't succeeded in that. But it's been awhile since I've marked progress in my playing. So I've uploaded another song here:
Yes, there are still some issues (like that damn D on the A string but only in ONE place!) and the timing still needs more polish, though it's better than it was. At least you can almost tell I'm making at least a little bit of progress. Damn little, but there it is.
And I UPBOW this song. Dang. For some reason that comes easier sometimes, and it almost gives it a lilt, or it would if I could play without stumblebow fumblefingers fumblebow.

A trick i use when recording is to convince myself that I'm not recording, but doing a live gig, so I just gotta finish the tune, no matter what. Often, upon playback, things aren't as bad as they seemed while playing. Sometimes they're even better than how they sounded during the playing of the tune. Another thing, attitude-wise, to keep in mind is "so what if it's good or bad--it's only a recording'?...this helps ya relax...
