I've been a member here for 11-12 years. In that time, the conversation had been lively, even unruly occasionally, and some very informative. Like life, I've seen friends here come and go, some to greener pastures, some to the big gig in the sky (bj, fiddlepogo, OTJunky I miss you all every time I log on). The participants have now dwindled to about a dozen or so regulars, several of whom I think of as friends even though I don't know them beyond the forums. Some of those who aren't here regularly have explained they switched to FB for more 'real time' conversation (not that this site doesn't work in real time - whatever). Some leave because this place can be less than friendly - I know, I've had my tactless moments and I've tried to curb that. So much of what gets said here is really just opinion and as my dad says, opinions are like a$$holes, everybody has one (almost). Rather than become the a-hole as I try repeatedly to make a simple point, I've opted to stop posting indefinitely. There's nothing new to say about fiddling that isn't in the archives already anyway.
I'll use this blog space to keep in touch when something noteworthy (to me) happens, but otherwise I'm done participating for a stretch. There's fiddling to be done and banging my head against the wall isn't helping with that.
As my friend Paul would say,
