I think Steve Earl recorded this song (Don't know if he wrote it). We've been performing it for well over a year, and it has become one of my favorites. This cut was recorded in Glenview IL on 2/7/10 (yes, it was Super Sunday and we still managed to fill the room somehow) by my band Loose Change & Friends. Ron & Marcy Novit (banjo & guitar/vocal, res.), Bill Tong (autoharp), Lee Mishkin (bass), Doris Lee Dutton (clog dancer), John Daugherty (mandolin) and myself (fiddle).

For a good while, when I played solo - this would be the last song I would play. It is on an album that Steve Earle did with the Del McCoury Band / The Mountian. I don't particularly care a lot for Steve Earle, but this song reveals a "spiritual awareness" that he has to have to write a song like this. (pretty sure he wrote it). That impresses me. Its a great song, it's a great album. I play it with a dropped D on the guitar. Well done.
