New England (and the rest of the Western world) desperately needs cultural excellence, so let me encourage you to start such a band. Along the CT river valley there are lots of musicians that play for contra dances, and Susan Conger compiled a tune book of the name Along the River with all original songs. It has lots of great tunes, but since they are all copyrighted, they can't be posted (at least not without permission). When I get some of them polished, I will ask for permission.
