Recorded with Olbap (clawhammer banjo) and Domi (guitar) in Fontanes. My playing comes from the way I play this song on the mandolin, for now I haven't listened to any old time fiddler playing this song. I will carefully listen the way Tommy Jarrell played it as I find l my version is pretty basic... Some experiments near the end of the tune....

Played with my friend Olbap in my living room. Recorded with my H4. This is our first attempt at this song. I have to make my fiddling more groovy and dancing. Also we tend to speed up the song. I might add some irish cut out notes in this one. The fiddling is freely inspired from Holly Tannen & Pete Cooper- Frosty Morning album. that you can find here: http://timesaintliketheyusedtobe.blogspot.com/2009/06/holly-tannen-pete-cooper-frosty-morning.html

Irish Song freely inspired from Bothy Band first album. I've added a bit of reverb with soundforge. Not sure if it was necessary...

Recorded at Olbap's house in the south of France, with our good friend Domy holding the guitar. Olbap told me this is also known as "Miss Mc Leod's Reel". Very simple but pleasing melody. I should work more on the accents I guess...

Solo version recorder in my bedroom with a Zoom H4. This is in dead man tuning and freely inspired from the Benny Thomason version. This song is very intersting : unusual time signature (for me) and beautiful irish accents in the B part.

As told by Bruce Molsky on its instructional DVD. Played in AEAE cross tuning in Tommy Jarrel's spirit. By the ways I've changed my strings since the previous recordings (d'Addario Helicore set plus Kaplan Non Whistling E String), and now I use a better rosin. I think I should play slower to grasp the pulse of the tune...

Second attemp at this well known song after a careless listening to Tommy Jarrel 's rendition... Recorded with my H4 in front of the computer (white noise in the background) and with the mute on (so my wife doesn't yell at me).

This is a mix of the version taught by Andy Leftwich on his instructional DVD on old time fiddle and Tommy Jarrel's version. Recorded with my H4 in the kitchen.

Western Country a.k.a Suzannah Gals. Recorded whit my Zoom H4 at the end of a very sunny afternoon sitting on my wooden chair. I've listened to Jarrell's version and the one by RAFE STEFANINI with the Rockinghams on the "Souht Lulu album'. Some mistakes on the bowing and intonation on the B part but now at least , I've managed to find my way of playing it...
