This tune was written by Mithril percussionist David Hughes in response to the recent events involving the oil spill here on the gulf coast. It's our anthem to the gulf coast and all who have been affected by the results of the spill. You'll hear Cajun & Celtic flavors in this Mithril 'World Music' tune.

The melody for this tune came into my head as I was driving along I-65 in southern Alabama one day. I pulled off at exit 114, which is the exit for two towns, Starlington & Georgiana (the boyhood home of Hank Williams Sr.). So that's how it got its name. It's a local favorite now and I try to play it every chance I get. It's one of the cuts from my solo CD 'The Raven's Wing'. I don't know what genre to put it under-it's an old-time country waltz that might also be played by twin fiddles in a bluegrass band perhaps!

This is a set of three Irish jigs, arranged and performed by Stringer's Ridge, a trio from Chattanooga, TN that crosses musical and geographic boundaries, playing mostly instrumental tunes, with diverse and eclectic influences and a strong focus on Celtic, Old Time, and String Band music. This set features Tom Morley on fiddle, Bryant Haynes on guitar and Fran Morley on bodhran, and comes from the trio's recently-released CD "Handmade."

An Irish waltz I wrote after being inspired during my first trip to Ireland in 2002. From the first CD by my Irish/World music group Mithril, 'Banish Misfortune'.

Here is a mighty set of tunes from my Celtic /World music group Mithril, from our recently-released CD 'Along the Road'. It's one of my favorite sets, featuring a jig and two slipjigs, all classic Irish trad tunes.

This is an original tune from my new CD 'The Raven's Wing'. I wrote it as part of a suite of tunes inspired by Fairhope author Sonny Brewer's book 'The Poet of Tolstoy Park'. I've performed it with my Celtic group Mithril but here I gave it more of an old-time bluegrass feel. (www.flyingfrogmusic.com/onlinestore.php)

This is a track from the new CD 'Band of Two' by Banna de dhá, the duo of fiddler Tom Morley and DADGAD guitarist Hazel Ketchum. The Irish phrase (pronounced 'bonna de gaw') makes reference to the 'banding together' of their two instruments, fiddle & guitar. This tune is usually played as a hornpipe but here the duo give it a moody interpretation.

Two Irish reels by my Celtic/World music group Mithril, featuring Andra Bohnet (flute), Ben Harper (guitar), David Hughes (percussion) and myself on fiddle. From our 2007 CD 'The Return Home'.
