Something really happened last month at the Port, the players on deck (two tables in the back by the kitchen) now get one complimentary beverage of their choice just for sitting in! I say, yea, I was behind that happening.
Besides having to really get my chops down to sit in on this session with Eamon Coyne (world famous, movie "the boys and girl of County Claire" is about his family), I had to make it even more work by asking Eamon to specifically call on me to play AND sing.
One of my piano students who is a natural musician and has cape breton roots asked whether I would teach her the bodhran so she might sit in on some sessions at the Port.
best as ever,
Tobin has 2 friends.
