Bruce began violin lessons when he was eight years old, playing in school orchestras and eventually in the New Haven Youth Symphony Orchestra. He later discovered fiddling, playing in various bands in a variety of styles. He has been an active member of the Strathspey and Reel Society of New Hampshire since 2000, and studied Scottish and Cape Breton music at the Boston Harbor Scottish Fiddle School for two of their annual week-long sessions. He plays for contra dances, English and Scottish dances, as well as other venues. Bruce is also an accomplished glassblower, and has been a juried member of the League of NH Craftsmen since 1985. His work is available in many fine craft stores nationwide.
