took piano lessons as a kid too 1 year classical violin. hated it! played barroom piano in nyc in the late 60's rested for about 40 years picked up the "fiddle" about 2001 took lessons from alot of people who identified themselves as teachers only to find out they knew not what they were doing. found a very expd. classical teacher/performer who excelled at teaching & really helped me. currently: play prof. bluegrass/cw/cajun-zydedo, ethnic folk, just about anything
