I'm an award winner and don't you forget it.

My friend Ted Hall  and I received recognition as Exceptional Volunteers at the annual Food Pantry Volunteer Appreciation Picnic. That recognition was accompanied by each of us receiving a coffee mug with our photo glazed onto the outside of the cup.. What an honour to have won such a prestigious award.. The next day, THE VERY NEXT DAY, at the pantry, one of the paid staff members tried to walk by me.. I gently grabbed her by the shoulder, stopped her, and reminded her that I was an "award winning" volunteer and that she should never pass in front of such an esteemed person.. I told her that she should always walk Behind me..I'll let it go this time but please be more mindful in the future... I tell you, What is this world coming to?
