A very short version that I learned from the playing of Dudley Vance. I'm on fiddle and Pete Anick's on guitar; we recorded this for our book Oldtime Fiddling Across America. Doug Dorschug (DougD) has an excellent live version of the tune on his music page, with him on banjo and Red Vance (Dudley's son) on fiddle. I always figured the A part starts the fox chase, the B part is the pack yelping, and the C part is the sad ending of the cornered fox. http://www.fiddlehangout.com/myhang...c.asp?id=385

I wish it continued longer.
Nice fiddle/guitar combo. I think it's pretty hard to make fiddle and guitar duets sound good but I really like this one.

Me too! There were 66 recordings for the tape / CD that came out with the book, so they had to be short to fit.

I give all the guitar credit to Pete! He's an inventive and excellent musician on guitar, fiddle, mandolin, and more.
