farmerjones, cool and bluesy! With bass sounding good in there!
Thanks Peggy, vertigo improving - can stand/walk today ok, but bending and turning still makes me feel sick. I watched some videos of the Epley maneuver and will try to learn (thank you, person who messaged me! :-)

Nice playing, farmer Jones...nice recording...I always feel like I've been to Louisiana when I hear you play...lol...how do I know I feel that way...I've never been there but it just seems like Louisiana unmistakably to me. Very nice.
Is there a reason I haven't heard about why people don't seem to be using the Sound off forum much? I mean, more people might check it out on there. I still feel confused as to what I missed about sharing music on here ... feel a little intimidated that I could accidentally be doing something that just ain't right no more here...that is, IF I ever get something recorded and a YouTube made.
Anyway...just curious...anybody know why the sound off forum has been kinda not as much used as it was a few years back? Or am I just crazy...well yeah, probably, but this ain't a normal part of my regular crazy.
My Uncle explained the inner ear has a sort of 'level' within it. Sometimes crystals can form in it. He said the Bernoli maneuver helped to dislodge the crystals and restore equilibrium. Done wrong it can make things worse!
I've been an oceanic traveler for many years and never got sea-sick. But it eventually did happen. This is another kind of inner ear problem. I wish you all the Best!
Is that the name of the tune, or you used to play “Julianne Flanagan” and forgot it? SOrry for a stupid question! :-D
PRepping for somebody’s “retirement celebration sesh” this weekend, pre-making a few sets. GOnna try Dusty Windowsills / Humors of Ballyloughlin just cuz I’ve been into playing them lately.
For fiddle class, learning a tough reel called “Moving Cloud”…we play it in key of F. SHe said, don’t shift to get the B-flat, it creates intonation issues. ( That made me think of the other thread…so now we have official weigh-in from a teacher/pro player on that…no half-position needed! )

Make up your own version, maybe do it in 6/8 instead. ![]()
A gig yesterday, and a jam tomorrow. I'm taking a break today.

JUst listened to Punch Brothers version…wow that’s a gorgeous tune.
Over here, Irish Reels: McDonagh’s (so awesome!!) and Green Groves of Erin (of Bothy Band fame)
I dunno how, but somehow all the small ‘invite-only’ sessions got lined up in one weekend so I have Fri night, Sat afternoon and Sun afternoon? I guess it makes up for lying in the couch with vertigo and missing everything last time. The roller coaster of life…things can go up and down so quickly…hang on, everybody!
I've been looking at some old Scottish and Irish tunes - "The Corporal" and "The Oyster Wives Rant," ancestors of "Squirrel Hunting" from the 1780's Aird Collections, and a couple "Hauling Home" tunes from Joyce's "Old Irish Folk Music" also mentioned by Samuel Bayard. And "The Frost is All Over," also from Joyce, but a hornpipe, not the jig also known as "Kitty Lie Over."
I want to record these as soon as I find a fiddle. I know there are several around here, but they're small and easily misplaced. The weather's too nice right now for indoor activities anyway.
