No better day for Turkey in the Straw right? Trying it in different keys than G is fun too

Also been enjoying Turkey in the Straw in B flat, seems a little easier than in G - long as the band's got their capos ready!
Wow! That makes the note-y version I like to play so much easier, especially that first phrase.
Bb for the win!

I really like the tonality of it there too, not sure why. Seems sweeter somehow, less harsh despite being one and a half steps higher in pitch.
I ran over a few tunes this morning while drinking some coffee; here's what came out:
-Baby Ben (James Bryan)
-Kansas City Rag (Leftwich/Gellert, Hoosier Hum-Dingers)
-Waynesboro (One I cobbled together from a Bruce Greene version/and Clyde Davenport's Ladies in the Ballroom)
-Unnamed Tune in G (Uncle Bob Walters via Bill Petersen)
-An Unnamed Tune in G (Clyde Davenport)
-Off She Goes (Mack Blaylock version via James Bryan)
-Rocky Palace (Manco Sneed)
-Ten Cent Piece (from a Brad Leftwich workshop, 1995; I forget who his source was?)
-Billy in the Lowground (a very minimalist version that's in the Thede Book, that I souped-up/changed around and augmented)
-Billy in the Lowground (another very minimalist version from Melvin Wine)
-Tom Wagner (version that all the fiddlers from the Deseret String played, it's got a different third-part than their source, KC Kartchner)
-Dog Treed a Possum Up the White Oak Tree (Garry H/Chirps Smith).....then the phone rang.

Waynesboro - nice tune. It always reminds me of John Hartford. It just sounds like something he would play.
Learning beautiful jig “wealth is contentment”.
But mostly I am in a “tear down and rebuild” phase now! Had my first Irish fiddle lesson and he said my playing sounds “tight” …wants me to use less bow, and play like I am relaxed, slouched in my chair…
I have memories of my childhood from my violin teacher; “more bow! More bow!” And “violin up! Stand up straight!” ( I was never allowed to sit while playing or practicing).
So, this crossover business is hard! :-D
Probably would have been easier to just take up mandolin or tenor banjo LOL…
Hurray I am speeding up finally , making mistakes on the way but correcting them in a way that sounds quite satisfying at least to me.
So here is my Bull At The Wagon attempt, recorded today.
For those of you who would like to know: I followed this great fiddler's tutorial (but cannot help to play it a bit different , probably because I cannot handle the real thing yet) :
