Genre: Old-Time / Playing Style: Unknown/None Chosen

Played by James Eugene "Gene" England (15 April 1927 - 20 April 1995), in April of 1963, at Mountain View, Arkansas, though he lived just north of Bee Branch, Arkansas. Gene learned to fiddle from his mother, Veora Hightower England, who learned from her father Jim Hightower. Gene read no music, and played the fiddle in the crook of his arm, rotating the fiddle, rather than the bow, for string crossings. All tunes ended up being modified for square or jig-dancing, in the Ozarks, sooner or later. This one is no exception. The tempo is about normal for that.
