From my CD on Taller Dog Music called "Darcie Deaville Plays the Fiddle and Sings." It's a north American traditional CD. This is a trad fiddle tune- or PD- in cross tuning. A big drum, similar to a djymbe, (but not) accompanies, as well as my Octoblaster- which is an electric octave mandolin- one of a kind, built for me.

I like the mojo you got going on this one. Oldtime but not . . . quite. I like it!

BJ, yes, it's old-time but not quite. Some of my trad stuff really is old time, but I also take great liberties sometimes!

Ms. Darcie,
Say NOW, do I ever have a new favorite tune rendition. Your Jimmy Johnson is, as we say in N. Cali, fully "I-Grade". Honestly, its wonderful. As Mr. bj has correctly observed, you have some real mojo goin' on this.

That would be Ms bj Gary.....at least to the rest of us :-D Love it Darcie, the folk process still lives !!! Love it !!! A wonderful hybrid that shows true creativity !! Wonderful !! Great use of the non-tradtional drumming....it sounds as if it were meant to always have been there.
