I have lots more of Smokey and will post more. I learn so much about scales and using the 5 primary scale notes, which i believe are more powerful. Also learning from Smokey that getting from one place to another does not have to be on the same route. He must have loved these tunes enough to spend many. many hours just doodling with them to see what alternative phrases would "come" to him

i just noticed that you like Stuart Duncan. I have several cd's made for the Cracker Barrel restaurant chain that were arranged by Mark Howard )Mandolin and Guitar and always featured Stuart Duncan on Fiddle
He is like Smokey. he can create such beautiful alternative ways of presenting any phrase.
Have you heard the "Devil's Dream" by Stuart ?

whole different ball game when you take the speed out of it (devils' dream) isn't it? Mr. Duncan is still one of my all-time favorites but I do like those texas fiddlers, thanks again,
