This tune was taught to Art by his dad Hiram. This was recorded in 1973 by Art with the Goins Brothers from the Album"Head of the Holler". After it was recorded Art took it back and played it for his dad and he said " Art you didn't play it right" You decide. The fiddle was tuned EDAE.

Good banjo. Great fiddle. Was that "real" record hiss at the end?

Hey thanks for writing. Yes I took that recording from an LP 33/3. That record is not out on CD yet. I have talked with Melvin Goins and told him he needs to release it on CD. We will have to wait and see.

It RESEMBLES versions I've heard, but has some unique qualities -- thanks for sharing this!
