This is a tune especially for Loy Peters, because he loves the tune and wants to play it, and Fiddlechickaroo, because she's a Texan and NEEDS to play it, plus I really like the both of them. Hope you like it! The fiddle I'm playing it on is the Josef Klotz that I'm selling, BTW.

Nice job Dave. One of my favorites. I recently observed that no one had posted a rendition of this tune---which is rather incredible. You can't go to a fiddle jam in Missouri without hearing this tune. It has to be one of the all time favorites waltzes.

I dig your final cadence. Fine job overall. Very similar to the one I learned. Mine is a blend of Craig Duncan's (courtesy of Mel Bay's Famous Fiddlin' Tunes) and something passed out at a music practice for the All Volunteer String Band. Thanks for posting this.

Thanks! I do actually do play Westphalia, but I like your version better. Right, in Texas you better know this tune, and I have also heard, "you gotta have a fiddler in the band" too. Nice slides! Also, I detect some double stops! Yikes!!! Things are still crazy here, but I hope to put a tune up, maybe in a month?

Dave...that is a fantastic rendition of this tune. What is it about waltzes that is so appealing? Love it, mate.

I really like this version, especially the way you accentuate , if that the correct way to say it. The group I play with plays it a lot straighter. I enjoyed it

Superdave,
Just wanted to thank you for posting this song. I love your version of it...so beautiful. I listen to it in my car as I travel on various long distant trips and it makes the time fly right by. I've also taken to playing along with my G harmonica, it fits together nicely. Super job.

If you're wondering why your play count is going up, I'm using your rendition to get the tune into my brain. A lovely, 2 in the morning, one couple left on the dance floor style reading. Thanks for posting it.
