Thanks Fiddlebob, and thanks for all the cheerleading you've provided previous..... I thought this tune was 'Monroe County Quickstep', which I've often played on guitar, backing-up other fiddlers. So I recorded it, then listened to various recordings of 'Monroe County Quickstep' and realized things had morphed some. I rarely set out deliberately to learn or play a tune, but listen to fiddle records willy-nilly, not paying much attention to liner notes. After awhile, when playing the fiddle, a tune will appear in the minds's ear & under the fingers and I'll think "oh yeah--this is such-and-such a tune." But it's not. It's something else or a mutant variant, simplification or extension etc...This perhaps relates to being a guitarist & accompaniest? I file away harmonic structure & counterpoint--as much or moreso than melodies--as being intrinsic-to or indicative-of any given fiddle tune. After awhile my brain decides that what I've stored-away IS the tune. DUH.....this might be ANOTHER tune that I've confused with my memory of Monroe County Quickstep....WHATEVER this tune is, here I've called it Harbourton. Harbourton is an area near here, in the last century more of a proper village, now just a lovely rural area so far evading deveopment and sprawl. Though it's in New Jersey, Harbourton looks not much different than the landscapes of rural Virginia or central Pennsylvania. Farms and horse country.

Phew. At first glance, I read 'Halliburton'. :-)
