GDgd // I learned this from a recording of Lester McCumbers playing made by Kim Johnson (banjo) in 2006 in Glenville, West Virginia. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q62oT_9La34) And here is Lester talking about where he learned the tune from, a banjo player named Jenes Cottrell. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ay2TR-9xJm I) Kim notes that “as far as I know Lester was the first of the fiddle players to pick up the tune. He and his wife sang quite a few verses to it.” Nothing on DLA, Slippery-Hill, or Fiddler's Companion.
