The Mighty Canon, my clerical set, with Jamie O'Brien on guitar. Recorded at FiddleFantastick Studio back in the 90's. Never made it past the demo stage 'cause Jamie moved to Tuscon, AZ!

Nice stuff! Did you compose the first two selections? I have always loved hearing the last one.

The Clergy's Lament is from Turlough O'Carolan, famous Irish harper from the 17th century.
The Priest In His Boots is in O'Neil's Music of Ireland, published around the beginning of the 20th century but collected late in the 19th century around Chicago. I got a Liz Carroll setting (another Chicago connection) from Mick Maloney's "There Were Roses" LP but didn't stay too true to the original.
The last tune I got from another old LP made by an Irish metal band named Horse Lips. The album title was "The Tain" which refers to the famous literary text from ancient Ireland recounting the cattle raid of Cooley. It was a sort of musical telling of the story which used both traditional fiddle, mando, concertina and rock instruments. Of course it's a big session fave, too.
