Beautiful picture...it's so hard losing someone close to you. Glad you got a chance to play for your friend before he passed. I just had started learning fiddle (Aug 2010) and didn't play for my mother...who passed in Jan 2011. I regret not playing for her so she could hear how beautiful my father's violin still was. So, even though i am still not up to snuff, I still took my fiddle down to play for St. Paddy's Day for my sisters..not sure whether the effort was appreciated, but I did it anyway, and am glad I did!!! Now next year when I bring it down there, I'm sure I'll be better and they will hear the difference. Thank you for sharing your story! Just remember your friend will be alive as long as you keep him in your heart!
