I learned this off Jim Bowles version from the DLA. I even tuned down to FCFC!

I talked about this tune in a separate forum posting. I believe it is related to an old Negro/children's folk song called "Snake Baked a Hoe Cake." This version was learned off a Snake Chapman recording.

My Home Upholstery String Band playing at the 2004 Anchorage Folk Festival. This was the jam group I played with in Alaska, and I never expect to have more fun playing music again in my life.

Played by my friend George In Alaska. When I asked him to recommend a tune as my very first tune to learn on fiddle, this is what he gave me.

I learned this tune from Erynn Marshall at the 2009 Midwest Banjo Camp. Tuning is DDAD. I am dissatisfied with my playing on this tune, and would like suggestions. The intonation and rhythm is inconsistent, and the low D is really sensitive and keeps going out of tune if I press too hard with the bow.
