I started playing fiddle around 2002. These days I'm playing mostly Old Time. Otherwise I play New England style (contra dance tunes, anglo-celtic, Canadian maritimes tunes, etc) and I've dabbled in Bluegrass. Prior to learning fiddle I played melodic clawhammer banjo, starting sometime in the 80s and playing a lot in the 90s. Way back when I saw a teen in the 70s I played piano (classical, popular and jazz) and trombone (concert, marching and jazz). I call myself an advanced intermediate player. I still need to solidify my technique and firm up repertoire.
