I began my musical 'career' by recording a sensational album of folk songs with 1960's folk trio, "The Limeliters" in Berkeley California (along with 70 other local school kids) fast forward a few decades, when I played accordion and sang in a number of Folk-Punk, and quasi-Cajun folk and Rockabilly bands around The Bay Area from 1977-1992, (most notably, "Wall of Gumbo!",) and created "The Grand Alligator Ball", a twice annual roots music showcase which earned Critic's Choice awards from numerous local publications. Now living in Tokyo, Japan, I am playing again and am searching for a fiddle/mandolin/ukulele/banjo picker, or pickers for our our roots band, "The Namban Gumbo Ramblers" to rehearse for some shows in December and beyond. We play a unique blend of Country, Swing, Cajun & Zydeco, hokum, Blewgrass, European folk, Jug band, Calypso, Tex-Mex & New Orleans R & B! (I play button accordions, maracas, and kazoo, Alan plays bass, Carl plays guitar, and we all contribute vocals, with me in the lead.) We'd be grateful if you would share this on your page, or with any instrumentalists you know. Anyone who can plan these instruments are welcome to apply! Many thanks, Kerry Drew, Tokyo (kerryika 'at' gmail 'dot' com)
