getting better

Sunday, November 9, 2008

Remember, iron sharpens iron!  There is nothing like getting out there and playing with someone who's a better player than you are.  You learn more in an hour of jamming with good players than you do in a year of woodshedding.  Seek out opportunities, share your knowledge and have a ripping good time while you're at it.

Just got back from Portland OR.  What a hoot! Great attitudes, scenery to match.  It's the land of Starbucks, I mean there is one everywhere, just down the street, backstage, in your hotel room, probably even on top of Mt Hood.  Try playing Lee Highway with a ripping good caffine buzz on...it'll change your life!

Been Playing for a while, Fiddle, Mando Guitar Formerly with Five Guys Named Moe Now playing with Poormouth (old timey) and Goodbye Tulsa (contemporary folk) also doing studio work for a couple local studios, but nothing all that impressive to say the least. I consult on AV system designs for Churches, Theaters, and Museums to feed the bulldog, and buy junk and sell antiques at the local flea markets. I also buy and sell vintage instruments.
