‘Maclean’ Lauchlan was born in Scotland in a small mining community. The family Maclean has been traced back to 1601. His Father, Lauchlan James Maclean, was a coal miner but also had his own band playing Accordion, Fiddle and on occasion Bagpipes. As a teen Lauchlan became rebellious and played guitar from a very early age, Influenced greatly by the Beatles, Rolling Stones and later the Corries and the Dubliners. Loved Country and Bluegrass but had picked up numerous songs and tunes from the Friday night parties that ensured a packed house with many not so sober musicians. Lauchlan came to Canada with his family in 1996 then moved to an acreage near Watson Now he is a teacher of guitar, violin (Suzuki) fiddle, mandolin and banjo Also performer of music, (including the Bagpipes). In his Album (which is for sale $10) Lauchlan Sings, play various guitars including Twelve Strings, Six Strings and Bass; (He can’t wait to produce the next Album). From the diverse range of Students a small group is evolving they are going to be known as “The Lassies”. Already being invited back to venues without having to apologize!! They are great to work with and a treat to listen to.
