I started playing in 4th grade with the school orchestras in Colorado quickly climbing to the top of Colorado players. Making the All state Orchestra as well as some other well known orchestras at that time. Brico Symphony, Golden Youth Symphony and Young Artist Orchestra and others. After playing most of my life as a Classical player I became interested in other types of music/bands with violins and fiddles. Never before playing in a band or playing by ear untill 1999, when a radio station in N. Colorado advertised that they were auditioning musicians for a Country band. out of 47 people that auditioned 7 were picked and I was one of the 7.
Ever since than I have been expermenting and playing with many different bands never wanting to put myself in any closed box of genre. It was not till 2004 that I found the style that I love to this day which is the Celtic Style. Still I refuse to put myself in a box, however my style cannot be contained now. I have done recording work for many artist here in Colorado as well as a short film and my violin playing can also be heard on the video game called Magic 8 ball. I continue to work with a hip-hop artist/producer who got my first album off the ground "Mystical Moments".
And now have my own Gypsy/Celtic Band called "Jacie McConnell & AN SHEE EILEE which got it's first Demo CD out a few years ago called "Jacie McConnell & AN SHEE EILEE (An Chead Sidhe) The First Muse. Looking to do a full CD in 2010.
