Hi Everyone,
I started out playing Old Time in 2003, but in 2006, I absolutely fell in love with Irish Music. I've studied Irish fiddle with Brennan Brooker, Patricia Clark, Theresa Bourke, Patrick Ourceau, Matt Cranitch, Kevin Burke, Liz Carroll, John McEvoy, James Kelly, and John Carty. I have a deep appreciation for the tradition and have taken part in the Fiddler's Retreat in Co Tipperary, the Catskills Irish Arts Week in East Durham, NY, and the Tionol in St Louis. I have met nothing but wonderful people in my travels.
I recently took up the tenor banjo which fights for my attention with the fiddle. I play weekly at an Irish session in St Louis and play with a small group named Gallica. I've had the privilege to travel to Ireland and will always remember getting to play in Gus O'Connor's in Doolin. While at the Fiddler's Retreat, we got to play at pubs in Upperchurch and Thurles.
While I wish I would have started earlier in life and would always encourage others to do so, I realize there is no way to learn all the tunes you want. There's always another wonderful tune right around the corner. Time to go practice...
Wishing you all the best!
Larry

First off, everyone at the Folk School of St Louis. I owe them a great deal in getting me hooked with this wonderful instrument. Special thanks to Colleen Heine and Justin Branum, who were my first fiddle teachers. Another thank you to Brennan Brooker, who's was my teacher from 2006 -2008. I'm now taking online lessons from Patricia Clark from County Clare. I must also add Jerry Maloney and all the St Louis Irish Session Players. They're a great bunch of folks, and I wish I could make more Wednesday night sessions! I can't forget Theresa Bourke at the Fiddler's Retreat in Loughmore, County Tipperary.

I started taking OT fiddle lessons at the Folks School of St Louis at the age of 47. In 2006, I started taking Irish fiddle lessons. I feel like I have awaken from a musical coma. Life is good. I wish the same to you!
