Well, I had known John Hartford's family for a while, and I got one of his CD's and started listening, well, the first song, "Skippin' in the Mississippi Dew" blew my mind. I listened to it nonstop(Literally) for about a week. Then about a year later, I got a CD of Norman Blake and Peter Oustroushko called 'Meeting on southern soil", and that Clenched it. I knew I had to learn to fiddle. I couldn't get my hands on a fiddle, though, until an elderly banjo Picker that goes to my church named Jesse Smith gave me one. I started taking lessons, and still play several hours a day. Earlier this year I started playing Banjo(Clawhammer, Two-finger, Scruggs), and now there's always music in our house.
