I have been playing banjo since around 1978 or 79. I have a wife Jan and two sons, Blake and Jeremy and two great daughters in law. I have a Ph.D. in Information Systems and teach at Southern Union State Community College in Opelika Alabama. I am also a Christian and enjoy playing drums in my church’s 35+ piece orchestra. I have just started back playing banjo again after almost a two-year hiatus due to a problem with my right hand (a focal dystonia with my thumb). During that time, I played fiddle and bass with my bluegrass band. Now, I get to do a little of all of it! Currently, I have a 1977 Ode Model D, a Deering Calico (blond like my wife), a Gold Star GF-100-FE, and I have just purchased a Gibson Blackjack – I am a blessed man!!!
