My cousin Randy Elmore taught me to play guitar in 1969 & I've loved every minute of it since. It has opened lots of doors & I've met some wonderful people over the years I like Old Time Fiddle & Bluegrass & Country. I love them all but old time fiddling is # one ! Some of my favorite fiddle tunes are Sally Goodin, Billy in the Low Ground, Blackberry Blossom, Grey Eagle, Cotton Patch Rag, Back Up and Push, Sally Johnson and Leather Britches. I also like Lost Indian, Red Wing, Angelina the Baker and Shamus O'Brien. I found my Gibson J 45 Guitar in a Pawnshop in Texas about 30 yrs ago and it was made in 1961. I've got a Kentucky A style Mandolin that I enjoy playing and I can play a few tunes on the Fiddle but my # 1 main style of playing music is back up rythmn for my Step Dad (Hilly) who play's the Fiddle and Mandolin and any Fiddler's that like to Jam. I'm playing Rythmn Guitar on Hilly's fiddle tune's Sweet Alice Waltz and Snyder Waltz plus Arkansas Dan's Fiddle tune (Cheatum County).
