Well yesterday I went to Atlanta Street Violins and picked out a violin.  It is a nice beginner violin made in Romania.  I listened to several violins made in China, but I liked the sound of violin I selected.  Now I just have to get an instructor.  I am resisting the temptation to get a self-instructional book/CD/DVD because I don't want to pick up any bad habits at the beginning (I have enough time later on to do that).
