I'm 15 until August 6, 2010, and I'm from Wapello, Iowa . I've been playing the fiddle for nearly 6 years now and i love it. I wanted to start playing the fiddle after hearing Alison Krauss and Union Station on a live CD. So I started taking classical lessons and really hated it. After 2 years of classical, and still hating it, my Grandma Karen Zippe finally took me to a bluegrass festival in Hannibal, MO. It was the best experience of my life. I met lots of fiddlers throughout that weekend and I was exposed to lots of awesome bluegrass . If i didn't have fiddling in my life I would be one bored kid during the summer, considering i don't play sports or anything. After Hannibal i needed more so that following summer my other grandparents, Keith and Carla Grimm, took me all around northern Missouri. Now we have been going every year since and it's what I look forward to all winter long. If it wasn't for my grandparents i wouldn't get to do what i love, and thats fiddling.
