Well, I am back from Clifftop. It was both a good and bad experience. Since we didn't really know anyone there and didn't have our own tarp to play under (having come on a plane), we spent a lot of time wandering around hoping to meet people and looking for an open jam that would let us join. Everyone was really good and seemed like they all knew each other and did not want extra fiddles. A lot of people also shut their tents so you could not really watch them play. We did have one good jam session that we started with an acquaintance at his camp, and we were so happy we played from lunchtime until 4am. A lot of the people who came and joined us were also new and searching for somewhere to play, and we had a great time with them. Unfortunately we couldn't use that space for jamming the next day so it was back to just wandering around and listening. I heard a lot of great music but really wish I could have played more. If it had rained less we might have been able to start another jam on our own somewhere without a tarp. If I ever decide to come back I will have my own tarp and make a sign that says "Welcome! come play with us!"
