My name is Noel Love and I am a fiddler, banjo player, guitarist, and unabashed lover of fiddle music. I love to listen to most types of fiddle music (and music in general), but my love of playing Old-time music is what drives me with a passion. My first Old-time instrument was the banjo (clawhammer), which I started playing about 15 years ago in the beginning of college. I took to it quick, and played with anyone I could find. I started going down South to the big festivals ( i am from Central Canada), to study and learn at festivals and workshops. It was then that I started to get serious about the fiddle. I have continued to play both the fiddle and the banjo, both for enjoyment and performance. i am pretty sure that very few people know of me who haven't met me. I am friends with a lot of those from Canada that are involved in the Old-time scene, many names that people are familiar with. But, in that I have lived in Taiwan for the last few years, I haven't really had a chance to play out in Canada or the U.S. for a long time. I hope that will change in the near future.
