Now listen here -- I'm sure what you were going to put is wonderful!! It really is about where WE are on the journey... you have a lot more family commitments than I do.... and you don't have a spouse who sleeps like a rock when you're playing at full volume at 4 am!

So you are where you are -- be proud of that, and let's hear ya!!

And yes -- Hardy is a blessing to me... but I'm not sure he would like the way I played this tune... timing, tone, intonation -- way off! *S*

You get to play at 4 A.M. at full volume? And your husband doesn't complain? You are blessed.

Great job, keep up those 4 A.M. sessions.

I just shut the bedroom door -- and play at my desk in the kitchen. My house is made of concrete block so it's pretty soundproof to the outside so the neighbors don't complain (or at least haven't -- yet).

And when I do have to play quiet (in my office or something), I grab my electric fiddle and headphones!

So it's up at 4 am and fiddle until I have to get ready for work at 8 am. The funny thing is, I HATE 7 am... because I know I only have 1 hour left... and it goes by SO quickly. And it never fails, I usually get totally "into the groove" and 7:55.

I'm with you. The BEST time for me is to practce early A.M. when I'm fresh. It's amazing to me the diff. when you practice in the eve. after a long day.

But then again, I like to practice in the eve. to know what I really sound like at my worst.

A jazz musician once said to think of your playing ability akin to a house. Sometimes you're on top of the roof , soaring in the clouds . Sometimes you're on the first floor and it's like a job. At it's worst, you're in the basement, struggling every moment. But .....when you know, at your worst, your foundation is at a certain professional level, you can at least be greatfull.

The thread drifted, but you started it!

I find that it doesn't matter if I'm in the groove or not. On those 'bad days' if I just play through, the rough spots seem to smooth out. Sometimes it takes a while, but you're right about morning - before work playing. If I ain't there yet and the clock hollers ... sigh ...

Hey -- I love thread-vear! And it's not like we were talking about some complex issue anyway... just chattering away...

Sometimes, that's a good thing!

But I'm with MudBug -- I plays SO much better in the morning... I think my mind is more focused. In the evening, I'm thinking about the day's events, or what I have to get for dinner, or whatever... In the morning -- it's me and my fiddle. Period.

Gotta love that time!

....hum I have never tried that early. Maybe a NICE wake up call for everyone tomorrow AM! And I can blame it all on my FHO Buddies!
