I play this in D with the fiddle tuned ADae.

I didn't find anything at DLA or Slippery-Hill.

Yet another one I know! I think my first teacher, Dave Loseur, knew a bunch of those tunes played by The Volo Bogtrotters and some Missouri tunes. Keep 'em coming.

I'm not a very disciplined person when it comes to practice. I usually spend about 5 - 10 minutes with a tune. I will pick tunes that I'm trying to learn, haven't played in a while, ones I just like playing, or (here lately) ones I'm going to record. Not in that order, but as fancy hits me.
I will usually play when I find time, and stay with it until I get tired or duty calls.
How's that for a regular routine? 
As far as my repertoire is concerned - well, I guess all things are relative. I wish I knew them better than I do.
Recording is helping me hear where I need work the most.

Still doesn't haven't foound a recording of "Dear Doctor" - but look what I did find!
...for those who would like to hear more of The Corklickers.
Some good tunes there.
And Doug is credited with recording and tapping the live performance at the Todd Fiddler's Convention in 1988, which included others along with the Corklickers.

I never knew that recording of the 1988 Todd Fiddlers' Convention existed! Not only was I there, I'm playing banjo on tracks #8 and #12 with Don Mussell fiddling and Rachel Goodman on (inaudible) guitar. Wow, that takes me back. Thanks for that trip down memory lane.

1977 Dan Gellert on "An Anthology, Old Time Fiddling Styles" (Tennvale, TV-004)
1978 "The Corklickers, Old-Time Tunes & Songs from the South" (Mountain 314)
Let me know and I could digitize the tracks. However, I don't think I can upload them, legally, though Dan could probably agree to let me, or upload it himself. Someone would have to check with him.

Doug, I've watched parts of that 1994 Mount Airy video - lots of great sessions, many involving old friends! But sadly, Maxine and I have only been to the Mount Airy Convention once, in 1988. We'd really love to get back there again, but having to choose one festival for a yearly cross-country trip, we've been going to Clifftop for many years, mainly because we will see the largest number of old friends there who we don't get to see the rest of the year, unless they come west. Of course, we miss the folks who go to Mount Airy but not Clifftop, but what can you do? Also, we go to Clifftop for ten days, so we get a really big dose of great music (and visiting) to carry us through till the next summer!
But we do have some great festivals on the west coast too: the Portland Old-Time Music Gathering in January, Fiddle Tunes in Port Townsend, WA in July, and the Berkeley Old-Time Music Convention in September, so we don't go hungry the rest of the year.

None other than Brendan solved the conundrum and of course it was "Doctor, Doctor"!
By the way thanks for posting the 1994 video on the FHO or I'd never have seen it and I'm really enjoying both of Steve's videos the last few days!
Oh yeah and Rayna Gellert's in that video too.....I'd love to hear Dan's version.
