This is John Engle (the best fiddle player no one's ever heard of), Erynn Marshall (fiddle), Kirk Sutphin (banjo), and me (on fiddle) jamming at Swannanoa this year.

Kirk is doing amazingly cool banjo work. John is rocking on what he does best -- Tommy Jarrell tunes, Erynn is playing 2nd fiddle, and I'm doing my best to hang on for dear life and not screw up too badly.
It was a great time and I was periodically wondering if I'd died and gone to heaven...

You know, I've had that experience. You're in a jam session where you start thinking "You know, it just don't get any better than this", and then I'll start getting all choked up 'cause I don't know what to do with this flood of emotion I'm feeling, and if anybody were to look me in the eye at that point, they'd probably see tears welling in my eyes. Tears of joy. And that, Sirs and Madams, is why I play this music!
