It's that time of year when we reflect on the best new old time music released in the last 12 months. Here are 21 OT albums released in 2010 that I know about.
I'm sure I missed a lot. Please add those that I missed. Maybe we can have a mini-Grammy awards or something.
Adam Hurt - Earth Tones
Albemarle Ramblers - Gentleman From Virginia
Annie & Mac - Message from the Hills
Appalachian Storm - Appalachian Storm
Booger Holler String Band - Where the Pavement Ends
Chris Coole & Ivan Rosenberg - Farewell Trion
Corbin Hayslett - Pickin' My Path
Dead Fiddlers Society - Livin' it up
Jason & Pharis Romero and Friends - Back Up and Push
Jim Pankey & Bobby Burns - Grasshopper Sittin' on a Sweet Potato Vine
Kirk Sutphin & Riley Baugus - Long Time Piedmont Pals
Mary Z. Cox & Yazid - Drumming On the Edge Of Banjo
Meghan Dudle - You Are Always In My Dreams
Mineola Band - Rags &Pieces
Molly Tenenbaum - Goose and Gander
Rachel Eddy & Kristian Herner - Chilly Winds
Scott Prouty - Puncheon Floor
The Freight Hoppers - Mile Marker
The Hot Seats - EP 2010
The Pearly Snaps - The Pearly Snaps
The Possum Whackers - All Young
Note: The links all go to CD Baby -- which is turning out to be the best place to buy music online. Sometimes, you can find them at Amazon for a bit less.

Nice post! I'll check those out.
I love the Field Recorder stuff too. I was actually just listening to a couple of those.

Is that all of the old time or just the best? Where is the Ola Belle Reed reissue CD on Folkways?

So, J-Walk, do you have all those albums? Of those on your list, I have:
Jason & Pharis Romero and Friends - Back Up and Push
Jim Pankey & Bobby Burns - Grasshopper Sittin' on a Sweet Potato Vine
Kirk Sutphin & Riley Baugus - Long Time Piedmont Pals
Which of the others do you most highly recommend?
By the way, it's not a 2010 release, but if you missed it, I highly recommend the 2006 album, Amy & Karen Play 15 "Old Time" Quality Tunes & Songs, produced by FHO's very own Brendan Doyle. Lots of great tunes to learn, and cheap at only $6.99 (MP3 download) at Amazon!

No, I don't have them all. Not even close.
I have the same ones as you do, plus Albemarle Ramblers and Adam Hurt (and a few selected tunes from others). But they are all on my save for later list. Some of them, unfortunately are "CD only," which means I'll probably never get them.
I think we can conclude that OT music is alive and well -- generating a new album about every two weeks, on average.

After sampling all the lists, I added several to my wish list, and hit the "buy" button on Scott Prouty - Puncheon Floor. That's my kind of fiddling, and it contains several tunes that are high up on my to-learn list, like Old Aunt Jenny With Her Nightcap On, and one old favorite that continues to allude me: Camp Chase.

and
