That's a haunting tune. Thanks for posting it! Does Tim have any idea where his grandfather learned it?

He does not know. Betty Vornbrock used to live in Austin and learned the tune from Tim. At that time, they didn't know the title.
Years ago she played the tune to WIlson Douglas and he stated that he hadn't heard the tune since he was young and said that it was called "Wolves in the Wood".
So we know it came from West Virginia long ago, how it got to Texas, we don't know. However his grandfather is the source of the tune, so we claim it as a bonafide Texas tune.
