The weather is going bonkers, like everything else seems to be. Hoping y'all are ok...I know some live in the paths of some pretty bad storms pushing through. Are ya ok? Hope so.

Normal winter to springtime weather here: droughty after the snow stops, then water-bomb storms.

Got a quarter-inch in all of March. The last two days--5 inches. It's either on or off, but that's the way it's been since we've lived here forevermore.

No tornadoes in the Boston Mountains, just straight-line winds. They tear up everybody west in OK, and fall apart here. Then, they re-form and tear up everybody to the east. The local weather-guessers never learn that phenomenon in school.

This is a blessing in the violent spring, but in the summer it is a curse--cause it's the same pattern--rain comes to OK and Walmartville, but the mountains turn the weather and I can literally watch all the rain skip around my mountaintop farm, as we turn into dust.

Anyway, that's the long way around to saying we're okay in the Ozarks while complaining yet, but that's just my way. Wife gets the same earful, unfortunately.

I'm afraid I complain so much that I must repeat an old joke that somebody could tell on me:

Farmer is always complaining so somebody asks him: "What is it would make you happy?"

Answer: "Well, I want an inch of rain, every Friday, after 5 PM."

Here's another. Farmer complained all the time about failures: droughted out, flooded out, bugs. One year, everything was perfect. Plentiful rain, lack of diseases, everything. Fellers at the mill noticed the plus-up for grinding and asked about it--"looks like you did good this year." Reply: (Farmer shaking his head) "Well, tell you what, all that corn sure takes a lot out of the soil."

The Ozarks - hotbed of regional agricultural humor.

That's why a "young farmer" is 50 plus. One must get his or her answers down pat.

the levee on one of our neighboring lakes failed.

our spillway is producing whitewater rapids, flooding the folks across the street. We are on high ground. If we get flood out, there will be a big problem for everyone.

That's bad, hope everybody gets through ok. We've got the worst flooding here since 28 years ago. It just never stops raining. That usually means about 4 months from now it just won't ever rain and everything will be way to dry...lol...swings back and forth.

Last 7 days rainfall.  Even Buffalo Trace is under water.
