Hi Peggy -  the title of your post caught my eye.  Here's a bouncy version of "We Are Climbing Jacob's Ladder" sung by the Chumbler Family on 78 RPM, Columbia 15481, 1929.  I think that I hear an autoharp in the mix.  Found at a flea market near Mt Airy NC, was coated with chicken droppings when I found it.

Thanks, Mark. It is interesting how many ways people have done old hymns, songs, ballads, tunes...isn't it? Glad you got the chicken doo-doo off the record...surprised it didn't do more damage to it. One thing I love about the old music is that you can look at it from different perspectives and it seems the sky is the limit of artistic license and personal expression.
