This week we honor a woman fiddler for Women's History Month with a great tune that is not played very much: Over the Stump and Back Again. It comes from the playing of Sarah Gray Armstrong (18 March 1883 - 12 August 1957) of Westmoreland Co., PA.

This is one of the hand full of Hill Country Tunes I picked up. Would you believe our Missoula Library had a copy, since disappeared. I made a copy some 25 years ago and shared with pals. Of course it’s posted on the web now.

Thanks for doing these videos, Paul. I've gotten a lot out of some of the tune histories you've given. I'll probably learn this one.
